Owner of his own tax consultation service company, Christian Bélanger was born in 1955, in Delisle in the county of Lac-Saint-Jean. 

Father of two grown daughters, Julie and Catherine,  he has been an active player on the Canadian national scene for the past eight (8) years and presently runs his firm, Christian Bélanger Consultant, out of Saint-Jérôme in the Quebec Laurentians.

After obtaining a Bachelor ’s degree in Industrial Relations from Université Laval (1980), his began his professional career as negotiator for General Motors in Sainte-Thérèse. He reinforced his professional experience while working as shopping centre manager (1983-1990). He then immersed himself thoroughly in the world of publicity, setting up his own company specialising in the diffusion of commercial messages by electronic media.

In 1999, he accepted the post of consultant with a firm specialising in the recovery of QST and GST credits and other credits specific to Canadian businesses as well as public and parapublic organizations. The program for the refund of employment insurance contributions (Federal Youth Hires Program, FYHP), put forward by the Federal government at the time, allowed him to earn recognition from hundreds of Canadian businesses.

In his capacity as consultant, his research into the tax accounts of the Canadian clientele of one of the largest audit firms in Canada led to the recovery of millions of dollars.  These sums had lain idle in the companies’ tax accounts, without the owners’ knowledge.

In June 2007, Christian Bélanger Consultant, came to the conclusion that his experience ought to be shared with the entire Canadian business community. He then created a guide enabling Canadian businesses to obtain, once and for all, an answer to the question:
